EDOX works by supporting the biological building blocks of erectile function. Current research has led to the conclusion that ED is most often a disease of THE BLOOD VESSELS (both arteries and veins) and their unique structure in the penis, the Corpus Cavernosum.
In the penis, the two largest areas on either side of the center are called the Corpus Cavernosum (meaning "cave-like bodies"). As a pair, they run down the length of the penis, and are composed of tiny sponge-like "caves" or chambers that fill with blood during an erection. Running through the center of each (small red circles) are the Cavernous (or Cavernosal) Arteries, which are the blood supply pipelines. Understanding what happens during an erection sheds light on why ED is best understood as a disease of the blood vessels and corpus cavernosum
The arteries, like all blood vessels, are lined with a single layer of endothelial cells. So are the tiny spongy chambers.

When a man is sexually stimulated, three interdependent processes happen:
The result is a rigid penis.
The Corpus Cavernosum is composed of interconnected smooth muscle cells lined with endothelial cells. The lining of the arteries that supply blood to the spongy tissue have a similar lining. When stimulation and nerve signals occur, healthy endothelial cells release the gas called Nitric Oxide (NO). This causes relaxation of the smooth muscles around the arteries and the cavernosal chambers, causing the penis to become engorged with blood, thus increasing its length and circumference.
In other words, without healthy blood flow and without healthy endothelial cells to release NO, there can be no natural erection.
The incidence of ED increases in men with endothelial dysfunction. Unhealthy endothelial cells can result from aging, diabetes, high cholesterol, and cardiovascular conditions such as atherosclerosis. Penile erection depends on a functional vascular system and healthy cavernosal tissues. It is the healthy endothelial linings that produce the NO. Even in the loss of nerve function, as may be the case following prostate cancer treatment, cardiovascular and endothelial health should be fostered for two reasons:
Nitric Oxide is not a supplement
Unhealthy endothelial cells are unable to produce sufficient Nitric Oxide on demand. If this occurs, the penile tissue cannot relax enough to become engorged, resulting in ED. Likewise, if there is not enough natural material for the cells to convert to NO, the quality of erectile function may be compromised. However, NO is a gas so it cannot be formulated as a stand-alone supplement. Only the endothelial cells can produce NO, so it is important to bring those cells to the greatest level of health possible.
Using the power of scientifically founded supplementation, the EDOX formula supports endothelial and vascular health for long term erectile function.
What makes EDOX so unique is that it works naturally at the most basic level to improve blood flow, increase Nitric Oxide production, and help protect, restore, and sustain endothelial function. Most ED prescription medications and many supplements focus on creating a single erection. EDOX works instead to enhance erectile function and sustain overall sexual wellness each and every day. And it does this naturally—without medication and without uncomfortable or potentially harmful side effects.
